For us this wedding was a good example of the difference a wedding coordinator can make! The Durban Country Club had picked up that the bride was battling with the dynamics of a marquee wedding of this size and suggested that she contact us. We were so glad she did! Not only did we manage to save her tens of thousands of rands but we were able to avoid some serious errors by picking up the communication with all the suppliers and making sure that everyone was on the same page. The centerpiece stands were made up specifically and in record time to complete Lesang's brief to us. And the end result? A dream wedding that had everyone talking from beginning to end!

Its not the first time that I have been asked to do a same-sex marriage but I have never before worked with clients that were so conscious of not making anyone feel uncomfortable. The brief was to keep things as low-key as possible but still maintain a masculine style. No flowers were used and instead the centerpiece was a beautiful ornate silver bowl which doubled up as an ice bucket for the white wine and champagne. One of the most practical centerpieces I have ever done and the guests absolutely loved it!!

When Loredana Mattioda called me to ask me to assist with their daughter Rosanna's wedding I had no idea just how elaborate the plans would be! The brief was simple - Make it awesome!! And that's exactly what we did. No detail was spared in creating the most perfect wedding setting. From small crystal perfume bottles bought in exactly the right shade to chandeliers and hanging orchids above each table this was a perfect wedding from beginning to end.

Yvonne had a vision of what her wedding day would look like right from the start. The initial colour chosen was yellow but to add some depth we introduced a deep purple. Those colours mixed with classic silver containers created the perfect compliment for décor. The venue was a boutique hotel set on a hill and opened up to 180 degree sea view — absolutely breath taking!

Elise and Wolfgang met overseas and when he finally popped the question there was no dispute that they would get married in his home country. The wedding was an intimate affair for just over 40 guests and again the influence was proudly South African complete with traditional Zulu dancers for entertainment. The reception was a banquet style affair soft greens and cream with accents of colour coming through in the flowers and in the bead work that would later become the wedding favours for guests to take home. In true Irish style the party continued until the early hours of the next morning – proof that you don't need a huge number of guests to create an awesome party!

The Groom's Family Farm has been in the family for centuries and for Angela there was no question as to where her perfect day would take place! Being an absolute romantic, Rowan made sure that Angela had everything that her heart desired and more! The day started with the ceremony in their back garden overlooking the magnificent Valley of A Thousand Hills. The aisle was probably the longest wedding aisle in history with the tall palm trees draped in white organza perfectly placed on either side. The reception followed in the front garden under a Nomadik tent, with views of the sea in the distance. It was a day made perfect by the couple's fantastic sense of humour and love of family and friends.

| Brief: |
This fun loving couple wanted an unpretentious venue to celebrate not only their special day, but a whole weekend with close family and friends. Their vows were said in the gardens of Zulu Nyala's main lodge with 360 degree views of the African bush and their reception was held in the quarry with only a canopy of African stars above their heads. The winter's chill was kept at bay with fantastic home cooked food, great South African red wine and a number of bon fires strategically placed around the venue. The colour scheme of green, cream and a touch of brown blended perfectly with the natural surroundings.

Chris is an old Cape Town boy who grew up in Paarl and went to London where he met and fell in love with his soul mate, Katka. With both of them based in London they needed someone back home to pull everything together for them. Again the focus was more a reunion with family and close friends and the décor was elegant with a definite South African influence coming in through Proteas and other local flowers.

Strandkombuis, Yzerfontein on the West Coast |
| Brief: |
Strandkombuis is a rustic venue on the West Coast about 60min from Cape Town and when this Jo'burg couple decided to get married there they knew they wanted to keep things plain and simple but Melinda's Graphic Designer background made sure that we still kept things very stylish. The colour scheme was green and white and we used square glass vases with beautiful white and green flowers and lots of candles to compliment the natural surroundings.
